1st March 2011

Hye !! =)
For today's night class, we are going to learn about
HOW TO MAKING INFERENCES & PREDICTION.

Making inference

An inferences is a logical conclusion based on what has been stated in the text. Information which is provided must be analysed in order for us to understand what is not directly stated or hidden between the lines. In order to infer, we need to use our experience, knowledge, common sense & power of reasoning to draw logical conclusions.

example : Mrs. Lim said that her executives have improved their report writing.

so, inferences that can be make is - the executives are now able to effectively organize the ideas in writing.

Making predictions

Predicting is an important reading skills as it will enable us to enhance our understanding of the text by anticipating what will happen next. Predicting can be done by using what we know about the text, plot, setting. characters, issues & relating them to our own knowledge to figure out possible outcomes.

example : Nadhirah has been given the responsibility of heading a multi-million dollar project.

so, predictions that can be make is - with the success of this project, she may be assigned to head other big project.

As usual, Miss Zu will do some activities that related to what we have learn.
First activitiy is find who is the murder ??
This activity force us to make noise in the class because we need to move around the class to get the answer.
The rules is ::
>Miss Zu give everyone in the class with a card.
>Then, the information that do not inform in the card is the murder

Next is watching a video clips.
>We need to watch some video such as the Bruno Mars, Grenade's video clip.
>Miss Zu will stop the video at a certain time.
>Then, she ask us to predict what will happen next.
